Growing up in Washington state, being outdoors was common practice. Going on hikes, bike rides, and camping made Karen appreciate and hold reverence for the natural world around her. Most of her background is in office and project administration from working with general contractors in Hermiston, Oregon on large-scale data center projects for AWS. In 2021, after taking a camping trip to Redding, she and her partner fell in love with the area and all the outdoor adventures to be had nearby. A year later, they moved to Red Bluff from Oregon and haven't looked back since. Karen is excited to serve the RCD and hone her skills working for an organization focused on conserving and protecting natural beauty in and around Tehama County.
